Retrofitting

The annual plant maintenance shutdown and retrofit task disrupts production and impacts profits. But here's a way to make the most of it. If you install matched lamps and power supplies in your UV water treatment system, you can increase UV performance and reduce operating costs.

Improved Performance

Advanced UV, Inc.'s high performance, low-pressure lamps are coupled with matched, electronic ballasts that produce some of the highest UV intensity levels available. Using custom power supplies that are matched to the specific application, performance can be increased by 20% or more over leading power supplies or other off-the-shelf electronic ballasts.

Power Savings

Not all UV systems are created equal. Performance can vary considerably, depending on lamps, ballasts and whether or not they're properly matched. It's not uncommon for normally energy-efficient electronic ballasts to use more power while providing less intensity if they are not matched with a proper lamp design. There are documented cases of companies having to switch back to their original magnetic ballasts to achieve the desired lamp intensity. Advanced UV Inc.'s matched systems solve the problem by delivering the performance and power savings one would expect from a retrofit.

System Modeling

With ten years of primary research data, our engineers developed modeling software that calculates the actual recommended number of UV lamps required to meet a customer's specific requirements.

With your estimated inlet and outlet TOC levels in the makeup and polishing loops, your consumption and return requirements, the software will size ultraviolet systems based on factual data.

The days of specifying extra lamps based on 3X, 6X, and 10X over sizing are long gone.

Your Retrofit Becomes an Upgrade

For lower operating costs, higher UV performance and faster maintenance, retrofit your UV system with Advanced UV lamps and matched ballasts. Our costs are competitive, and the performance
levels greater.

Tube Cleaning

Advanced UV, Inc.'s automated CleanSweep wiper system is available to remove light-inhibiting deposits from the quartz tubes. The stainless-steel cleaning surfaces glide along the quartz, scrapping away deposits without scratching. CleanSweep is not affected by UV light like traditional cleaning materials.
